Nicholas Hoult

Nicholas Caradoc Hoult was born in Wokingham, Berkshire, England to parents Glenis and Roger Hoult. His great-aunt was one of the most popular actresses of her time, Dame 'Anna Neagle' (qv). He attended 'Sylvia Young' (qv) Theatre School, a school for performing arts, to start acting as a career.Hoult has been acting since appearing in the film _Intimate Relations (1996)_ (qv); his breakthrough role was in _About a Boy (2002)_ (qv), where he starred as Marcus Brewer alongside 'Hugh Grant' (qv). In 2005, he starred in his first American film _The Weather Man (2005)_ (qv) as 'Nicolas Cage' (qv)'s son. At age 17, he received recognition for starring as Tony Stonem in the BAFTAs-awarded British teen drama series _Skins (2007)_ (qv) for two seasons until 2008. Later he played the role of Kenny Potter in the Oscar-nominated film _A Single Man (2009)_ (qv) after being discovered by director 'Tom Ford' (qv).In late 2010, 'Nicholas Hoult' (qv) was cast as Beast in _X-Men: First Class (2011)_ (qv), and reprised his role in the X-Men franchise in later films _X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)_ (qv) and _X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)_ (qv). He then starred as R in romance / horror zombie film _Warm Bodies (2013)_ (qv) alongside 'Teresa Palmer' (qv).
