Michael Paré

Michael Kevin Paré was born on October 9, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York City, to Joan (Moroney) and Francis Paré, who owned print shops. His father died of leukemia when Paré was five, leaving his mother to raise their large family of children. Paré was working as a chef in New York City when an agent, Yvette Bikoff, convinced him to try acting. Paré's first starring role was as Tony Villcana on the television series _The Greatest American Hero (1981)_ (qv). His well-known film roles were as Eddie Wilson in _Eddie and the Cruisers (1983)_ (qv) and its sequel _Eddie and the Cruisers II: Eddie Lives! (1989)_ (qv), as well as _Streets of Fire (1984)_ (qv) and _The Philadelphia Experiment (1984)_ (qv). Other films include _Moon 44 (1990)_ (qv), _Village of the Damned (1995)_ (qv), _Bad Moon (1996)_ (qv), _Hope Floats (1998)_ (qv) and _The Virgin Suicides (1999)_ (qv). On television, Paré starred with 'Michael Beck' (qv) on the CBS police drama _Houston Knights (1987)_ (qv), as well as the short lived science fiction series _Starhunter (2000)_ (qv).::Anonymous
