Teddy Award-winning Director Zero Chou (Spider Lilies) weaves three poetic tales as the lesbians in Drifting Flowers seek their true identify. In the first story, Jing, a blind singer, falls in love with her band's tomboy accordionist Diego. In another time and place, Lily, an elderly lesbian and Yen, her gay friend, create an unexpected bond and support each other in a time of crisis. Finally, we see Diego before she joined the band, when as a teenager she came to grips with her gender identity.

Na Dow carries out his drug-delivering routine by taking a cab down south and returning in the same cab on the same day. One day he reluctantly gets into a shabby taxi driven by the carefree, innocent Xu, who came to Taiwan more than 20 years ago and somehow decided to stay. Na Dow's plan to reform himself and Xu's wish for a peaceful life take a wrong turn when they become the target of a mob attack. The drugs and the money are gone, and both Na Dow and Xu are held hostage in the trunk of a car.

Ah-Ching and his friends have just finished school in their island fishing village, and now spend most of their time drinking and fighting. Three of them decide to go to the port city of Kaohsiung to look for work. They find an apartment through relatives, and Ah-Ching is attracted to the girlfriend of a neighbor. There they face the harsh realities of the big city.

Take a 20-year journey through the life of main character Truly Lin, seen mostly as a flashback to how her life wound up where it is now. Back in her senior year of high school she teamed up with TaiYu to break up the growing relationship between rivals Ouyang and Minmin. Through the course of the next year all four teens mature, and in the end, nothing is as originally desired although Truly and TaiYu wind up with the ones they initially wanted.

In 1987, decades of martial law is lifted in Taiwan and two schoolboys, A-han and Birdy, are about to enter an illicit love affair after meeting in the school band led by a Canadian priest named Oliver. While the whole country commemorates the late president, the two boys bask in each other's presence as A-han's affection for Birdy is awakened. However, society is homophobic and the threat of violence and social shaming enacted by adults and their fellow teens causes the two to come into conflict as they edge closer to physically enacting on their passions for each other. Birdy pushes A-han away by pretending to fall in love with a girl and this misunderstanding separates them. In desperation, A-han confessed to Father Oliver about his sexuality, only to be cut off again but love knows no bounds and the boys are meant to be together - Inspired by real events, the film is emblematic of the changes in Taiwan which became the first country in Asia to legalise gay marriage.

A Cheng is a kind-hearted debt collector who meets the debt-ridden Hao Ting. A Cheng becomes deeply attracted to her after seeing her uncomplainingly care for her ailing father and learning that she is shouldering the debt on her own. He eases her burden with a tailor-made repayment scheme: debt reduction in exchange for dates with him. When she has lowered her defenses enough to accept A Cheng's heart, a series of events lead to a bumpy road ahead.

Ah Le and Ah Yuan are music-loving brothers. One night, they break into a school auditorium to play an expansive piano. After experiencing many absurd but fun times with his new friends, Ah Le rediscovers his long-suppressed dreams and his love for brother, parents and Monster. When Ah Le musters the courage to confess his feeling to Monster, their budding love fails to blossom. Each wrote there words on their phones, "I Miss You", words that would remain in their hearts.

On a dark, wet night a historic and regal Chinese cinema sees its final film. Together with a small handful of souls they bid "Goodbye, Dragon Inn".

Bun-de (Wen-de in Mandarin, played by Shi Jun/Shih Chun) is a shy young man. Aggressively courted by all the girls in the neighborhood, he only has eyes for the pretty and mischievous Gui-kia (Jin Mei/Chin Mei). She finds every means possible to meet up with her boyfriend, although he is closely watched over by a very protective father, A-Gao. When the parents finally agree on the wedding, they realize that they used to be in love. Accusing each other of betrayal, they refuse to allow their children to marry. Bun-de and Gui-kia decide to elope.
