Fred Wood

'Fred Wood' (qv) (born 26 October 1922 in Rotherhithe, London) is an English actor and supporting artist who has worked extensively in British films since the late 1940s until 2001 and television since the 1950s.Despite being based entirely in Britain, Fred has appeared in a large number of American films, due to filming taking place partly, or entirely in, Britain. His film credits include _Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)_ (qv), _The Elephant Man (1980)_ (qv), _From Russia with Love (1963)_ (qv), _1984 (1984)_ (qv), and _Oliver! (1968)_ (qv).Fred has appeared in a wide range of TV shows including _Danger Man (1960)_ (qv), _Gideon C.I.D.
