Ira Wolfert

Novelist, war correspondent and screenwriter whose reporting from World War II's Pacific Theater earned him a 1943 Pulitzer Prize. His 1943 novel "Tucker's People" was basis for the film-noir _Force of Evil (1948)_ (qv), whose screenplay he co-wrote as well.
