Artel Great

Dr. 'Artel Great' (qv) was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He is an award-winning filmmaker, artist, and cultural critic. He began his career as a performance artist and stand-up comedian at the renowned Second City Chicago, before transitioning to film. He later earned his Ph.D. in Cinema Studies from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Dr. Great is also the first Black valedictorian to graduate from UCLA Film School, where he studied screenwriting and directing, and where he also holds a Master's Degree in Cinema and Media.::adn
