Anne de Carbuccia
بیوگرافی
Anne de Carbuccia is a French American environmental artist and filmmaker who travels to some of the world's most remote locations to artistically document endangered environments, species and cultures; her mission is to raise awareness on human-caused threats to the planet and to inspire individual and collective action through art, educational programs, films and exhibitions. The carbon footprint of her films is reduced by filming with minimal crew and compensated by a reforestation project. In 2018 she wrote and directed One Ocean, a short film that premiered at the Venice International Film Festival. It recounts the connection between our species and the Ocean. The film is still traveling to festivals. In 2023 it will participate in the Blue Water Film Festival in San Diego and recently won Best Short Documentary at Budapest Film Festival. She wrote and directed her first feature-length documentary, Earth Protectors, which was released, on Amazon Prime and Apple TV, in February 2024 and distributed by Minerva Pictures International. Her narrative recounts the stories and the diversity of seven young Earth Protectors that are living on the front lines of our changing planet. The film tells us that everyone can choose to become a positive geological force. She is currently working on a documentary series in five episodes entitled Choose Earth, based on the same characters of the film as well as new protagonists. The series wants to document anthropologically our era and is an homage to cultural legacy. It seeks to show the importance of societal change to move forward towards a positive Anthropocene. Choose Earth will be released end of 2025. In June 2024 her short docu-fiction Refugia, where life will persist (16 minutes) had its Italian premiere at CinemAmbiente in Torino. Refugia takes place in Japan and is a poetic narrative which recounts the science of environmental habitats that for millennia facilitated the survival of life on our planet. Anne has established the One Planet One Future Foundation in the US and in Italy. In 2016 the Foundation started an educational project, which includes digital lessons, based on the conviction that the next generation needs to start now to play a key role in devising solutions to protect and save our planet. She participates in mentorship programs for organizations such as the Guggenheim Foundation and IOC-UNESCO, which appointed her role model for the Ocean Decade and member of the group of Experts on Ocean Literacy.
