Lovely and charming brunette actress 'Nadine Van der Velde' (qv) was born on May 14, 1962 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She made her film debut in a small role in the raunchy teen sex comedy _Private School (1983)_ (qv). Nadine gave a lively and engaging performance as the spunky "April Brown" in the delightful _Critters (1986)_ (qv). She was likewise appealing as "Cindy" in _Munchies (1987)_ (qv) and once again solid as the perky "Joan" in the "The Old Dark House" segment of the immensely enjoyable horror anthology _After Midnight (1989)_ (qv). Van der Velde was excellent in a rare substantial leading part as troubled aspiring dancer "Jessica Lilliane" in _Shadow Dancing (1988)_ (qv). Nadine made guest appearances on the TV shows _Otherworld (1985)_ (qv), _CBS Schoolbreak Special (1984)_ (qv), _The Wizard (1986)_ (qv), _Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1985)_ (qv), _Tropical Heat (1991)_ (qv), _Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1993)_ (qv) and _JAG (1995)_ (qv). Van der Velde's last role to date was as aspiring singer "Reggie Tweed" in _East of A (2000)_ (qv); she also co-wrote the script for this film. Nadine has since gone on to a successful career as a writer for children's pictures and television programs: she's penned several episodes of the show _Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends (2004)_ (qv) and the screenplays for two "Rolie Polie Olie" movies.
