Michael Ballhaus

'Michael Ballhaus' (qv) was a German cinematographer. He worked on many American films, including Baby It's You (1983), Old Enough (1984), After Hours (1985), The Color of Money (1986), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), _Goodfellas (1990)_ (qv), Dracula (1992), The Age of Innocence (1993), _Gangs of New York (2002)_ (qv), and _The Departed (2006)_ (qv).Ballhaus was nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Cinematography, for Broadcast 'News' (qv) (1987), The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989), and _Gangs of New York (2002)_ (qv), but never won.His son 'Florian Ballhaus' (qv) is also a cinematographer who worked on Flightplan (2005) and The Devil Wears Prada (2006).Ballhaus died on 11 April 2017, at the age of 81.::Pedro Borges
