'Arne Sultan' (qv) was born on June 7, 1925 in New York. He grew up in Brooklyn. Before he became a writer, he was a night club performer. During the late 1950s and early 1960s, he was a television writer for many 'Steve Allen' (qv) shows and also wrote for _The Judy Garland Show (1963)_ (qv).He co-wrote the story of _Boys' Night Out (1962)_ (qv), a comedy starring 'Kim Novak' (qv), 'James Garner' (qv), and 'Tony Randall' (qv). He also co-wrote the original story of 'Arthur Hiller' (qv)'s _Promise Her Anything (1966)_ (qv), a romantic comedy starring 'Warren Beatty' (qv) and 'Leslie Caron' (qv), and co-wrote the story of _Three on a Couch (1966)_ (qv). His last credit is as co-writer in _See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989)_ (qv). His writing partner on all these films was 'Marvin Worth' (qv). He was also a story editor and writer on _Get Smart (1965)_ (qv), and eventually became an executive producer. During that time, he also produced and wrote for _He & She (1967)_ (qv), a short-lived romantic comedy series.He created with 'Leonard Stern' (qv), a "Get Smart" executive producer and "He & She" creator, _The Governor & J.J. (1969)_ (qv). After it ended, he executive produced and also wrote many episodes of _The Partners (1971)_ (qv), which was created by and starred 'Don Adams' (qv), the star of "Get Smart". Then he created another comedy, _The Sandy Duncan Show (1972)_ (qv), which starred 'Tom Bosley' (qv) before his _Happy Days (1974)_ (qv) role. His writing partner was 'Earl Barret' (qv) on most episodes of these shows.In 1975, he returned to writing on a TV show, writing nine episodes of _Barney Miller (1975)_ (qv), and also served as a producer. His writing partners on "Barney Miller" were 'Danny Arnold' (qv) and 'Chris Hayward' (qv). He also co-wrote a few episodes of _Holmes and Yoyo (1976)_ (qv), again with 'Earl Barret' (qv). He co-wrote the "Get Smart" movie, _The Nude Bomb (1980)_ (qv), with 'Leonard Stern' (qv) and 'Bill Dana' (qv). That year, he also co-developed _Too Close for Comfort (1980)_ (qv), which was an American adaptation of the British sitcom _Keep It in the Family (1980)_ (qv). It ended in 1987, when Arne and the show's star, 'Ted Knight' (qv) had both died.::imoth
