John Stephenson

'John Stephenson' (qv) is an Academy Award winner and BAFTA-nominated director. Born in London, England he received his education at the Kingston School of Art, followed by the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1979.In the early 80's 'John Stephenson' (qv) joined creator of the Muppets, Jim Henson in 'Jim Henson's Creature Shop' as a member of a unique group of artist-designers working on the ground-breaking film _The Dark Crystal (1982)_ (qv).He worked on numerous Henson classics as a creative supervisor and other similar roles such as _The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)_ (qv), _The NeverEnding Story III (1994)_ (qv), _Babe (1995)_ (qv), and _The Flintstones (1994)_ (qv).With this broad experience, he drew on to launch his directing career, applying his hand to both commercials and feature films involving creature-effects, helming the Hallmark Creature Shop co-production of _Animal Farm (1999)_ (qv). Stephenson also directed the film adaptation of the novel _Five Children and It (2004)_ (qv) and _The Christmas Candle (2013)_ (qv) . In November 2017, 'John Stephenson' (qv) won a Golden Angel Award for the Best International Co-Production Film for his film _Interlude in Prague (2017)_ (qv) at the Chinese American Film Festival.::Anonymous
