Aries Spears

Chicago native 'Aries Spears' (qv) discovered his comedic abilities at the young age of 14, when he started doing his own comedy routine around his hometown. By the age of 17, he landed a part in the movie _Home of Angels (1995)_ (qv), starring 'Abe Vigoda' (qv), 'Sherman Hemsley' (qv) and 'Joe Frazier' (qv). Spears' additional film credits include _The Pest (1997)_ (qv) opposite 'John Leguizamo' (qv), _Jerry Maguire (1996)_ (qv), _Out-of-Sync (1995)_ (qv), _Malcolm X (1992)_ (qv) and _Why Do Fools Fall in Love (1998)_ (qv).Spears' first television appearance was cable's 'Russell Simmons' (qv)' _Def Comedy Jam (1992)_ (qv), followed by _Showtime at the Apollo (1987)_ (qv).He moved to Los Angeles in 1992, landed a recurring role on _A Different World (1987)_ (qv) and became a regular at The Comedy Store, The Improv and The Laugh Factory.Shortly thereafter, Spears was cast in a starring role opposite 'Glenn Frey' (qv) in _South of Sunset (1993)_ (qv).
