Sumitra Bhave

Born in Pune, where she also received her early education, on January 12th, 1943, 'Sumitra Bhave' (qv) has been half of a decades long filmmaking partnership with the older male co-director,Sunil Sudakhar,also trained in Pune.The duo have made a number of award winning works on social issues, in the Marathi language,since they met in 1985, with the scripts written by Bhave and showing a feminist orientation.::Lawrence Chadbourne
