Jim Simon

'Jim Simon' (qv) made a name for himself as an animator with a distinctive squiggly lined style that featured African American characters on such shows as _Sesame Street (1969)_ (qv), _The Electric Company (1971)_ (qv), and _Vegetable Soup (1975)_ (qv), creating such segments as the little girl who was sent to the store to buy a loaf of bread, a container of milk, and a stick of butter; and "Hey, Diddle Diddle," which featured a jazz-funk band of cats that sang an original song about the coolest cat on the fiddle. He also had his own studio called Wantu Studios, which did the original animated titles for _Soul Train (1971)_ (qv).::MuzikJunky
