Elina Golde

'Elina Golde' (qv) was a dancer with the American Ballet Theatre before she started pursuing acting in New York City. Elina was born in the North of Russia. After the collapse of the Soviet Union she immigrated with her family to Finland where she soon started taking ballet classes. She was recognized as a young promising dancer and was awarded a Pro Dance Scholarship. Elina received most of her training in Helsinki as well as in Paris, Cannes, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. After completing high school she was offered a contract with the Finnish National Ballet. A year later during her trip to New York for an International Ballet Competition she was noticed by the director of the American Ballet Theatre and was invited to join the company as the first ballerina from Finland. Elina spent many years dancing with ABT and touring the world performing featured roles in nearly all the classical ballets. While being injured she attended an acting class in New York City and completely fell in love with the craft. Slowly her main focus turned to film and TV and after leaving the ballet company life she started acting in independent films. Elina is trilingual, she speaks fluent Finnish and Russian in addition to English.::'Elina Golde' (qv)
