Shanker

Often referred as the Romantic hero of Malayalam films, 'Shanker' (qv) was also a big star in Tamil films, as his debut film "Oru Thalai Raagam" completed 365 days in several theaters and crossed 450 days at Coimbatore. Consistent box office performances made him the darling of class as well as mass of both the states. He ruled Malayalam films as a superstar till mid 80's. 'Shanker' (qv) is also known for his helping hand to several directors, producers as well as actors. He decided to take a break from films in early 90's due to personal reasons, but could n't create the same stardom with his comeback films.
