Nick Berry

Attended the 'Sylvia Young' (qv) Theatre School (London) before obtaining minor movie and TV parts. Break came on BBC 1 soap opera _EastEnders (1985)_ (qv) as "Wicksy", a young man with musical aspirations. Fiction turned to truth when "Every Loser Wins", sung by Berry on one episode, hit the top of the UK charts in 1986. Berry toured the club scene and cut an eponymous album before returning to the series. After leaving _EastEnders (1985)_ (qv), Berry assumed a starring role in _Heartbeat (1992)_ (qv) as a country constable. His son Louis and wife 'Rachel Robertson' (qv) have also appeared on the series.::<anthony-adam@tamu.edu>
