Jan Sardi

'Jan Sardi' (qv) is an award winning screenwriter. In 1997 he received an Academy Award nomination for his screenplay for _Shine (1996)_ (qv), as well as BAFTA, Writers Guild of America and Golden Globes nominations. Jan has numerous other credits, including _The Notebook (2004)_ (qv) adapted from the novel by 'Nicholas Sparks' (qv); _Love's Brother (2004)_ (qv), which he also directed; _Mao's Last Dancer (2009)_ (qv); and the highly acclaimed mini-series _The Secret River (2015)_ (qv). Jan is a member of the US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA).::J.V.S.
