He has done his masters in Media & Entertainment from Whistling Woods International,Mumbai. He started his acting career in Kannada theater before moving on to lead roles in TV shows like Kaaranji (2014-2016) and as Writer & Producer in Shantam Paapam (2017-2018) for Colors Kannada. He has also acted in Kannada films Ka (2014) & he has received critical acclaim for his portrayal of a Character Sujay in Kahi (2016). Mahesh also wrote and produced numerous episodes of Shantam Paapam for Colors Kannada TV Channel.
