Violante Placido

Italian actress/singer/songwriter 'Violante Placido' (qv) was born in Rome. She made her on-screen debut in _Quattro bravi ragazzi (1993)_ (qv) alongside her father 'Michele Placido' (qv). In 1996 she starred in _Jack Frusciante Has Left the Band (1996)_ (qv) which became quite successful in Italy. Her first major role was in 'Sergio Rubini' (qv)'s _Soul Mate (2002)_ (qv) (Soul Mate). In 2006 she released her debut album Don't Be Shy... under the pseudonym Viola. In 2009 she appeared in the Hindi movie _Barah Aana (2009)_ (qv). In 2010 she made her Hollywood debut starring alongside 'George Clooney' (qv) in Anton Corbijn's thriller _The American (2010)_ (qv).::Serpico Jones
