'Meghan Weinstein' (qv), a graduate of the New York Film Academy (MFA) and Otis College of Art and Design (BFA), is a Canadian filmmaker based out of Los Angeles. Her films capture the absurd and often hilarious complexities of human connection, while featuring carefully casted ensembles and eye-catching imagery. She's been producing commercially viable independent feature films under her production companies Daisy Eagle Films and Wizard Cats, since 2017.In 2021 The Djinn was distributed by IFC Films/IFC Midnight, releasing theatrically and currently streaming on Showtime. Top critic Kimber Myers described it as "an 82-minute class on how to make an unnerving film on the cheap.""Garnering an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, Djinn's premiere saw a promising $1004 per screen average and brought home over 40 grand. Few films have been able to break this mark in the limited-release space during the pandemic." - Variety.In 2021 she produced, wrote, and directed The Influencer, which received an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. She also co-produced her second feature film, Healed, for Thornbyrd Films, which was awarded the coveted ReFrame Stamp from the Sundance Institute and Women in Film.Her early films include the coming-of-age short, Trippin' with the Folks, which garnered several nominations at comedy festivals in 2016 including Best Short Film, Best Ensemble Cast and won Best Supporting Actress at the Portland Comedy Film Festival. The off-the-wall sketch comedy web-series, My Delivery Guy, can be watched on Youtube, as well as the web-series Terms and Conditions, which earned her a Best Director nomination in 2019.::TG99
