Jayden McGinlay

Born in Newcastle, Australia, 'Jayden McGinlay' (qv) was cast in his first professional stage production at age 8, playing lead role Jeremy Potts in the Australian tour of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'. The following year, he joined the cast of Opera Australia and Gordon Frost's 'The King and I', as the understudy for both Louis and Prince Chulalongkorn plus swing for the child ensemble. In 2016, Jayden played Friedrich in the London Palladium Production of 'The Sound of Music'.Jayden began screen acting at eight years old, appearing in TV commercials, music videos, feature films and TV shows, including ABC crime series, 'Harrow'. He won the Best Actor award at the 2014 Bond University CentreScreen 'Awards' (qv) for his first lead role on screen, in the short film 'The Best Medicine'.In 2020, Jayden was cast as the lead male, Cecil, in the upcoming re-imagining of Stephen King's short story Children of the Corn, written and directed by Kurt Wimmer (Salt) and produced by Lucas Foster (Ford v Ferrari) Doug Barry (FML) John Baldecchi (Happy Death Day). It was the only film in the world to shoot entirely during COVID lock-down.Jayden plays Teddy in 'The Curious Case of Dolphin Bay', opposite Izabela Rose (Upside-Down Magic) as Quinn, directed by Christine Luby (This Little Love of Mine) and produced by the The Steve Jaggi Company. It premiered at the Gold Coast Film Festival in May 2022 and will be released later in the year.Jayden can currently be seen in the Netflix Original mystery thriller Sweet River, as Max.Jayden has been training in acting, singing, dancing and piano since he was six years old. In his free time he can be found writing, recording and producing his own music or supporting causes including World Animal Protection and Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.::A
