Karisma Kapoor

Born into Bombay filmdom's legendary Kapoor clan, 'Karisma Kapoor' (qv) made her film debut with _Prem Qaidi (1991)_ (qv) opposite 'Harish' (qv). Her next big hit was _Anari (1993)_ (qv) and during this time she made news with a fight with her _Andaz Apna Apna (1994)_ (qv) co-star, actress 'Raveena Tandon' (qv). She had a series of hit comedies between 1994 and 1997 starting with _Raja Babu (1994)_ (qv) and ending with _Hero No. 1 (1997)_ (qv) with 'Govinda' (qv) and director 'David Dhawan' (qv). She hit the big time with the super success of _König der Herzen (1996)_ (qv) and further consolidated her career with _Dil to Pagal Hai (1997)_ (qv). Today she is the reigning mega-star of Hindi cinema leaving her contemporaries like 'Manisha Koirala' (qv) and 'Raveena Tandon' (qv) far behind.
