'Rohin Raveendran' (qv) Nair is an independent filmmaker and cinematographer based out of Mumbai. His recent short film, The Booth, produced by Vikramaditya Motwane (Andolan Films) screened at such reputed festivals as Tallinn Black Nights (2019); Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival (2019) and won Best Short Film award at Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival as well as Signs Film Festival (Kerala). The Booth is currently streaming on MUBI. Rohin's one-minute short film, Paijana won Filminute 2016 - the international one-minute film festival.In 2021, Rohin directed a 60-minute long brand film called 2024, for the mobile giant, OnePlus, produced by Andolan Films in association with Odd & Even Films and Big Bad Wolf Productions. The film is a dystopian survival drama set in the immediate future: 2024, when a lethal virus wreaks havoc on Mumbai. The project entirely shot on OnePlus's then flagship phone, OnePlus 9Pro was marketed as a film encouraging the young filmmakers to tell their stories without depending on expensive cameras and gears. 2024 is currently streaming in India on Disney+Hotstar.Having specialized in cinematography from Film & Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, Rohin has shot numerous short films, digital commercials as well as documentaries. He is a Camerimage (Poland) Golden Frog nominated cinematographer, for the documentary, Testimony of Ana, directed by Sachin Dheeraj Mudigonda. He also served as the 2nd unit director and 2nd unit cinematographer on both seasons of the wildly popular series, Sacred Games, India's first Netflix Originals. Rohin also worked as the director of photography on episode 4 (season 1) of the Netflix series, Decoupled, directed by Hardik Mehta.Currently, Rohin is developing his debut feature - a psychological horror set in a remote satellite town.
