Shannan Wilson

'Shannan Wilson' (qv), actress, author and songwriter, was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Her mother, Jennifer Dylan and father, Donald Wilson, are retired school teachers and her father is an Army veteran who fought in the Vietnam War. Shannan graduated from Scarborough High School in Houston, TX and then attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, a little town located in the East Texas pines where she majored in Radio-TV Communications and Political Science. During her college years, she was a nighttime disc jockey playing grunge on the college radio station- KSAU 90.1. A month after graduating from college, she packed up her car and moved to Denver, Colorado "just because it sounded like a good place to live." As a true Gen Xer in Denver, she went to concerts at Red Rocks and took it easy - not utilizing her college degrees whatsoever. For 6 years she waited tables, bartended, hosted at restaurants and modeled. After living in Denver, she moved to Los Angeles where she continued to work runway, print and commercials until 2000. Shannan then married Carl Herckner and moved to the East Coast. She and Carl have been married for 18 years and have two children. Shannan also started and ran a successful nationwide promotional staffing agency for 14 years. In 2015 she decided to pursue a fulltime career in acting. In addition to her burgeoning career in film and TV, Shannan has had much success in modeling, commercials and print work. Shannan is also a singer/songwriter/musician whose music can be heard on Spotify. And, she is the author of The Littlest Peanut, an inspirational baby book for parents with children in the NICU.::Georgeanne Bruzzese
