Russell Mulcahy

Dynamic film/video director 'Russell Mulcahy' (qv) was born June 23, 1953, in Melbourne, Australia. He first gained fame directing visually striking music video clips for such artists as 'Elton John' (qv), 'Duran Duran' (qv), 'The Buggles' (qv) and 'Bonnie Tyler' (qv). He is also well known for feature films, starting off with the comedy _Derek and Clive Get the Horn (1979)_ (qv), the horror film _Razorback (1984)_ (qv), the spectacular sword and sorcery of _Highlander (1986)_ (qv), followed by the sequel _Highlander II: The Quickening (1991)_ (qv).He directed 'Denzel Washington' (qv) and 'John Lithgow' (qv) in the violent _Ricochet (1991)_ (qv), made _The Shadow (1994)_ (qv) with 'Alec Baldwin' (qv) (a film version of the comic book) and took the helm for _Swimming Upstream (2003)_ (qv).In recent years Mulcahy has been involved in directing several telemovies and episodes of TV shows, including _Queer as Folk (2000)_ (qv), _3: The Dale Earnhardt Story (2004)_ (qv), _Mysterious Island (2005)_ (qv) and _The Curse of King Tut's Tomb (2006)_ (qv) starring 'Casper Van Dien' (qv).::firehouse44@hotmail.com, aaron.devandry@gmail.com
