Junius Matthews

'Junius Matthews' (qv) was born Junius Conyers Matthews on June 12, 1890 in Illinois. He was determined to become a popular radio and television actor. He started out on stage, and got his first role in the classic _The Silent Witness (1917)_ (qv), as Bud Morgan. Before the movie _The Wizard of Oz (1939)_ (qv), he did the voice of the Tin Woodman on radio. He appeared in many movies, but he became really popular for the role of Rabbit in Winnie the Pooh movies from 1966 to 1977, such as _Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1966)_ (qv). In 1977, he did the voice of Rabbit in _The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)_ (qv). He still did the voice although he was already 87. On January 18, 1978, he died at age 87 of natural causes.::piccione2000
