Humberto Castro

Humberto Alejandro Castro Ward was born on December 15, 1984 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. He moved to El Paso, Texas at the age of 13 after his parents separated. When he was 15 years old he received his first video camera as a Christmas present. Soon after, he began writing short scripts and making short films with his family and friends. He graduated from Father Yermo High School in 2003 and went on to attend The University of Texas at El Paso where he obtained his B.A. in Psychology and Minor in Criminal Justice in 2010.Castro's true passion was reignited when he spontaneously enrolled into acting courses shortly after his college graduation; leading him to pursue a career in the film industry instead. He began by making a couple of short films entitled Reflection (2010) and The Beginning (2012) with the help of his longtime girlfriend (now wife), family and friends; and later connected them to I Am Psycho (2018) to create a short film trilogy. Two years later, after accumulating more than a decade of acting and filmmaking experience, he released his fourth short film called The Confession Project (2020); which was filmed as a documentary to help raise awareness on mental health. He is also known for his work on El Sueño (2016) and 22 Weeks (2022); two action-drama feature films that center around controversial topics. He continues to live in El Paso, Texas and has been married to 'Lorraine Sanchez' (qv) since August 23, 2014.::Award Pictures
