Shalini Ushadevi

'Shalini Ushadevi' (qv), an alumna of the Prague Film School, is a contemporary Indian writer and director. She made her feature writing and direction debut with Akam - a Malayalam psychological thriller starring Fahadh Faasil. It premiered at the 8th Dubai International Film Festival and was also screened at several international film festivals - Shanghai International Film Festival, SAIFF, Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival, IFKK, and Osian's Cinefan among others. Most recently, Shalini co-wrote Soorarai Pottru - a Tamil drama film directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Suriya and Guneet Monga. The film released on Amazon Prime Video in November 2020 to widespread critical acclaim.
