Asta Paredes

'Asta Paredes' (qv) is an award winning actress and filmmaker based in New York City. She is most well known for starring in Troma Entertainment's subversive horror comedy _Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 1 (2013)_ (qv) and Cinema Epoch's indie slasher _Sociopathia (2015)_ (qv) . Paredes' career also includes a co-star role on _Shades of Blue (2016)_ (qv) (NBC) as well as lead roles in acclaimed shorts _The Shadow Scarf (2017)_ (qv), _Eros Point (2018)_ (qv) , and _The Creeper's Curse (2020)_ (qv) .Asta's acting foundation was training at the prestigious University of Minnesota/ Guthrie BFA Actor Training Program as well as study at the Globe Theater, the London International School for Performing Arts, Upright Citizens Brigade Improv Training Center and various teaching artists. Notably she has appeared onstage in Jeffrey Baker's experimental 'The Pretenders', Elysium Theatre Collective's folk musical 'Bob Meets Bob' and Guthrie Theater's dark comedy 'Tiny Disasters'.Learning from her unique experience in independent art, Asta began working at Abandoned House Productions in 2014 along with frequent collaborator and husband 'Clay von Carlowitz' (qv) . Under this banner, she completed her writer/directorial debut, short film, _The Slightest Touch (2017)_ (qv) .
