Shazia Javed

'Shazia Javed' (qv) is an award-winning, Indo-Canadian filmmaker known for documentaries, 'Namrata' and '3 Seconds Divorce'. She began her filmmaking career in New Delhi and now lives and works in Toronto. In 2012, she founded her own media production company, LifeSketch Media Inc, to create engaging content that reflects the realities of diverse communities. Her films have been broadcast internationally and screened at prestigious film-festivals including Hot Docs, DOXA, Durban International, Reelworld and Mumbai. Her documentary, ' 3 Seconds Divorce' is now streaming on Netflix.Shazia's films have been supported by National Film Board of Canada, Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Edmonton Arts Council, and Doordarshan. Her work has featured on CBC National, BBC Radio, Omni TV, Radio-Canada International, Mississauga 'News' (qv), UN Women's report and Times of India.
