Frances Langford
بیوگرافی
'Frances Langford' (qv) won fame on radio (primarily as 'Bob Hope' (qv)'s vocalist, later sparring comically with 'Don Ameche' (qv) as "The Bickersons"), via recordings and in the movies. In spite of the fact that she played mostly in minor musicals (plus appearing occasionally in "A" productions, including _Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942)_ (qv), _This Is the Army (1943)_ (qv) and _The Glenn Miller Story (1954)_ (qv)), she introduced major songs like "I'm in the Mood for Love" in _Every Night at Eight (1935)_ (qv), "You are My Lucky Star" and "Broadway Rhythm" in _Broadway Melody of 1936 (1935)_ (qv), 'Cole Porter' (qv)'s "Easy to Love" in _Born to Dance (1936)_ (qv) and "Hooray for Hollywood" in _Hollywood Hotel (1937)_ (qv).::Stephan Eichenberg <eichenbe@fak-cbg.tu-muenchen.de>
