'Neil Hollander' (qv) was born on May 29, 1948 in U.S. but soon his family moved to France. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Washington.Hollander is a writer, director and producer for films, has authored several books and hosted museum exhibits. He's also been a university professor, journalist, war correspondent, sailor. His personal interest in sailing took him on a 4-year long trip across the Atlantic and Pacific, in a small sailboat with no engine and no electrics. During the trip, 'Neil Hollander' (qv) together with Harold Mertes sailed 25,000 miles, filming his documentary _The Last Sailors: The Final Days of Working Sail (1984)_ (qv). The documentary is narrated by famous 'Orson Welles' (qv).'Neil Hollander' (qv) has also written and directed two feature films, Sea Devils (1998) and _Birds of Passage (2001)_ (qv) and several documentaries on modern Myanmar (Burma).Together with 'Daniela Creutz' (qv), Hollander produced and co-directed "Nobel Voices", a documentary consisting of thirty-three videotaped interviews of Nobel Prize laureates, conducted in Lindau, Germany, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere in the United States.::re-mark
