'Amy-Joyce Hastings' (qv) is an IFTA (Irish Film & Television Academy) nominated, award-winning actress from Galway, Ireland. She earned a Distinction at University, graduating with a Bachelor in Acting Studies from Trinity College Dublin and since has gone on to star in an array of productions, both on stage and screen.Her performance as Oonagh in the powerful LGBTQ drama _Who We Love (2021)_ (qv) earned her an IFTA Nomination for 'Best Supporting Actress - Film' at the 2022 IFTA 'Awards' (qv) The 18th Irish Film & Television Academy 'Awards' (qv) (2022). She previously received a 'Best Supporting Actress' award for for the same character in the originating short film _Lily (2016)_ (qv) which was a critical success at international festivals.An early prime time television credit saw her co-star opposite 'Henry Cavill' (qv) in an episode of Showtime's multiple Emmy winning series _The Tudors (2007)_ (qv), _The Tudors: Message to the Emperor (2007)_ (qv).An accomplished theatre actress, her many stage roles include playing Carol in 'David Mamet' (qv)'s controversial masterpiece Oleanna - a performance which garnered rave critical and audience response - cut-throat socialite Estelle Rigault in Sartre's existentialist classic 'No Exit', Maggie in the world premiere of 'The Night Garden' developed by the Royal National Theatre Studio and performed at The Northcott Theatre in Exeter, and Cathy Calhoun in the first European production of 'Orange Flower Water' by 'Craig Wright' (qv).She played Shakespearean heroine Miranda in a Summer tour of 'The Tempest' in Ireland, and portrayed Titanic Stewardess Violet Jessop in the world premiere of 'Iceberg - Right Ahead!' at The Gatehouse, London to commemorate the Centenary of the Titanic disaster.'Amy-Joyce Hastings' (qv) kick-started her adventures in the film industry as a young child actor when she was scouted by 'Bond' Movies casting director 'Debbie McWilliams' (qv) for 'Michael Hirst' (qv)'s screen adaptation of _Fools of Fortune (1990)_ (qv). She was cast as Oscar winner 'Julie Christie' (qv)'s young daughter in the Irish family epic directed by 'Pat O'Connor' (qv), which co-starred 'Iain Glen' (qv) and 'Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio' (qv). Further film and television work soon followed in her teens including several RTE television appearances and a starring role alongside many of Ireland's premiere actors in 'Lisa Mulcahy' (qv)'s debut film _The Very Stuff (1997)_ (qv).She played the title character Kate Loughlin in feature film _The Callback Queen (2013)_ (qv), a sparkling romantic comedy set in London's film industry, which had its US Premiere at 'George R.R. Martin' (qv)'s Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe. The indie film received two IFTA Nominations in the 2016 'Awards' (qv) Ceremony, following its domestic cinema release.She played Iseult in _Sanctuary (2016)_ (qv), Len Collin's groundbreaking, critically acclaimed film, which won awards around the world including the 'Best Irish Feature Film' of 2017 from the Dublin Film Critics Circle. She worked with British director 'Simon Rumley' (qv) on genre picture 'Little Deaths' (which premiered at Film4 Frightfest and the SXSW festival in the US) and filmed the role of Vicky in mystery thriller _The Green Sea (2021)_ (qv) with 'Katharine Isabelle' (qv), directed by Lord Dunsany, 'Randal Plunkett' (qv).Hastings is also a promising screenwriter and film director, her short films having won numerous awards at festivals worldwide.::J.
