Laura Harris

Born to public school teachers in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada, 'Laura Harris' (qv) began acting professionally in CBC radio dramas at an early age. With a taste for quirky, character-driven material, Harris is known for playing 1930's starlet "Daisy Adair" in Showtime's cult hit _Dead Like Me (2003)_ (qv) with 'Mandy Patinkin' (qv) and 'Callum Blue' (qv). Film work includes 'Robert Rodriguez' (qv)'s _The Faculty (1998)_ (qv), 'Christopher Guest' (qv) 's _A Mighty Wind (2003)_ (qv) and Chris Smith's comedic thriller _Severance (2006)_ (qv) with 'Toby Stephens' (qv) and 'Tim McInnerny' (qv). Recently voicing the role of "Kitty Pryde" in 'Joss Whedon' (qv)'s _Astonishing X-Men (2009)_ (qv), other television work includes Showtime's _The Outer Limits (1995)_ (qv), CTV's _Defying Gravity (2009)_ (qv) with 'Ron Livingston' (qv) and a SAG nominated turn in FOX's runaway hit _24 (2001)_ (qv) starring 'Kiefer Sutherland' (qv). In her personal time, Laura is active in the food justice community, recently receiving a full scholarship for the University of California, Berkeley to study social-ecological systems design.
