'Dean Hargrove' (qv) is an American television producer who was born on July 27, 1938 in Iola, Kansas. After graduating from high school, he offered the job to become a comedy writer. He offered the job as an Emmy nominated writer in 1962 when he was writing _The Bob Newhart Show (1961)_ (qv).After Newhart's cancellation, he quickly wrote for _My Three Sons (1960)_ (qv) in 1963, before offering him the job as a staff writer in 1964 for the spy series _The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964)_ (qv). Besides "U.N.C.L.E.", he contributed some work, like _Jericho (1966)_ (qv) and _The Girl from U.N.C.L.E. (1966)_ (qv), both of them were from MGM Television and 'Norman Felton' (qv)'s Arena Productions.After "U.N.C.L.E."'s cancellation, he moved for Universal Studios. He went on to stay there until 1977. For Universal, he wrote scripts for _The Name of the Game (1968)_ (qv), _Columbo (1971)_ (qv) and _McCoy (1975)_ (qv) and he produced various TV shows like _Madigan (1972)_ (qv) and _The Family Holvak (1975)_ (qv), thus making Hargrove the biggest paid writer in history for the studio.Around the same time, in 1972, he launched an independent film production company, Strathmore Productions. He wrote and directed _The Manchu Eagle Murder Caper Mystery (1975)_ (qv). Five years later, he quit Universal and worked with Viacom with 'Roland Kibbee' (qv) who was a partner to start out Kibee/Hargrove Productions. The duo produced _Dear Detective (1979)_ (qv) and _Snavely (1978)_ (qv).In 1980, Kibee and Hargove part ways and Hargrove shut down two production companies. He then joined 'Henry Winkler' (qv)'s production company Fair Dinkum Productions, where he served as president. He oversaw the production of _Gabe and Walker (1981)_ (qv) and _Ryan's Four (1983)_ (qv), both of them were made for Paramount and ABC.Two years later, he left Fair Dinkum, and reactivated Strathmore Productions as a TV production company. Hargrove signed a deal with Warner Bros. Television. During his time at Warner, he wrote one script for an unsold pilot, which was reworked into an episode of _Scarecrow and Mrs. King (1983)_ (qv) and served as producer on the show _Goldie and the Bears (1984)_ (qv).In 1984, his Strathmore company left the Warners, and moved to Viacom Productions, of which Hargrove worked on from 1977-1980. He served as writer/producer on _Me and Mom (1985)_ (qv), the telemovies based on "Perry Mason", _Matlock (1986)_ (qv), _Jake and the Fatman (1987)_ (qv), _Father Dowling Mysteries (1989)_ (qv) and _Diagnosis Murder (1993)_ (qv), though most of them were partnered with fellow producer 'Fred Silverman' (qv) and 'Joel Steiger' (qv). He went on to be stayed until 1997, when he moved to Columbia TriStar Television.His career at Sony/Columbia included _Tequila & Bonetti (2000)_ (qv), _As If (2001)_ (qv), _Sea of Souls (2004)_ (qv) and _Demons (2009)_ (qv). He signed a deal with Hallmark Entertainment in 2002 and worked there on the "Murder 101", "Jane Doe" and "McBride" telemovies, before becoming an independent producer.::'Dean Hargrove' (qv)
