Mikelle Virey is versatile award-winning director, writer and actor from Toronto, Canada. As a classically trained violinist (Suzuki) and pianist (Royal Conservatory of Music- Grade 10), he performed with the Halton Chamber Orchestra growing up and reached associate concertmaster before transitioning to drums playing in several punk and metal bands performing in and around Toronto. Since graduating from the University of Toronto (Theatre Performance & Classics) and Sheridan College (Advanced TV&Film) Mikelle has gone on to direct a variety of projects including sketch comedy series "Hooracha!!!" (Nominated Best Writing in a Comedy Series - LA Webfest), experimental documentary "One Pandemic Day" (Silver Award - Spotlight Documentary Awards), crime-thriller "Bad Friends" (Best Director - Amsterdam New Cinemax Film Festival) and documentary series "Wild Archaeology" (Nominated for Best Factual Series - Canadian Screen Awards 2021). His most recent work, "Uncanceled", is a documentary about the false-arrest of his best friend. His work has garnered awards and has screened at festivals in Europe, Australia, and North America Upcoming projects include psychological horror "Sibyllae" and coming-of-age comedy "Hooded".
