Eddie Gutierrez

The son of Mary Pickett, an American, and Antonio Gutierrez, Eduardo was born in January 6, 1942 in Manila. He studied at San Beda College and finished high school at San Sebastian College. He took up a course in Commerce at Letran College. He married actress 'Annabelle Rama' (qv), with whom he has six children, including actress 'Ruffa Gutierrez' (qv), who won a Miss World 1st Runner-Up in the '90s; child performer-twins ''Richard Gutierrez' (qv)' and 'Raymond Gutierrez' (qv); Elvis Gutierrez, Rocky Gutierrez and Ritchie Paul Gutierrez, an up-and-coming rap artist. Eddie also had a son by actress 'Liza Lorena' (qv) - 'Tonton Gutierrez' (qv); and 'Ramon Christopher' (qv), by singer-actress 'Pilita Corrales' (qv). A bit player in 'Prinsesang Gusgusin' (1958), Eddie was introduced in _Handsome (1959)_ (qv) and played the lead in films like _Kaming makasalanan (1960)_ (qv), 'Eddie Longlegs' (1964), _Portrait of My Love (1965)_ (qv) and _Pogi (1967)_ (qv). He was under contract for Sampaguita Pictures for eight years. After living in the United States for several years, he came back to the Philippines with his family and resumed his acting career. He appeared in _Katawang lupa (1975)_ (qv), 'Ursula' (1976), 'Beerhouse' (1977), _Bontoc (1977)_ (qv), 'Balatkayo' (1978), _Bomba Star (1978)_ (qv), _Sari-saring ibong kulasisi (1978)_ (qv) , _Lagi na lamang ba akong babae? (1978)_ (qv), and 'Lumakad Ka, Gabi' (1979). In 1991, Eddie was nominated Best Supporting Actor by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) for _Uubusin ko ang lahi mo (1991)_ (qv). He received the FAP award for Best Actor and the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts & Sciences (FAMAS) for Best Supporting Actor for _Only You (1992)_ (qv).
