'Erica Gimpel' (qv) burst onto the scene as the unforgettable "Coco" in the international hit series _Fame (1982)_ (qv). Since that time, she has appeared in dozens of feature films and television shows. She played "Angel Brown" in the NBC series _Profiler (1996)_ (qv) and appeared for six seasons as "Adele Newman" in the Emmy Award-winning series _ER (1994)_ (qv). Her other television credits include the Golden Globe winning series _House (2004)_ (qv), _Criminal Minds (2005)_ (qv), recurring role on the Emmy Award-winning _Boston Legal (2004)_ (qv), and recurring role on the CW hit _Veronica Mars (2004)_ (qv) as Wallace's mother. Some of Ms. Gimpel's favorites include _Touched by an Angel (1994)_ (qv) opposite 'Phylicia Rashad' (qv), _JAG (1995)_ (qv), and the Christmas fable _Santa and Pete (1999)_ (qv) opposite the legendary 'James Earl Jones' (qv).Ms. Gimpel's film credits include the Oscar nominated short "Tuesday Morning Ride" with 'Ruby Dee' (qv), Wayne Wang's "Smoke" opposite Academy Award-winner 'Forest Whitaker' (qv), Abel Ferrara's The King of New York" with 'Christopher Walken' (qv), "Touch Me" opposite 'Amanda Peet' (qv), Hal Hartley's "Flirt" and "No Such Thing" opposite Academy Award-winner 'Helen Mirren' (qv), and Disney's hit "Freaky Friday" opposite 'Jamie Lee Curtis' (qv). Ms. Gimpel has just completed shooting the independent film "Blue Eyes" which was shot in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.While balancing a full acting career Ms. Gimpel is also a singer/songwriter blending the styles of Jazz/Pop and Alternative.
