Sergio Garrone
بیوگرافی
Writer/director 'Sergio Garrone' (qv) was born in 1925 in Rome, Italy. He serves as a classic example of a journeyman Italian exploitation filmmaker who happily capitalized on whatever cinematic trend was hot at the moment. Garrone began his movie career as a screenwriter and assistant director before making his solo directorial debut with the spaghetti Western _If You Want to Live... Shoot! (1968)_ (qv). Sergio went on to helm several other spaghetti Westerns that include _Three Crosses Not to Die (1968)_ (qv), _Django the Bastard (1969)_ (qv), and _Django - Der Tag der Abrechnung (1971)_ (qv). In 1974 Garrone directed the horror features _Lover of the Monster (1974)_ (qv) and _The Hand That Feeds the Dead (1974)_ (qv), both of which starred 'Klaus Kinski' (qv). Sergio achieved his greatest notoriety with the nasty Nazisploitation outings _SS Experiment Love Camp (1976)_ (qv) and _SS Camp 5: Women's Hell (1977)_ (qv). These pictures were shot back-to-back using several of the same cast and crew members. As a freelance screenwriter Garrone penned scripts for everything from lowbrow sex comedies (_La clinica dell'amore (1976)_ (qv), _...And Give Us Our Daily Sex (1979)_ (qv)) to various spaghetti Westerns (_Für Dollars ins Jenseits (1966)_ (qv), _Chamaco (1967)_ (qv)) to even mystery thrillers (_Death Knocks Twice (1969)_ (qv)). After writing the lackluster women-in-prison potboilers _Hell Behind the Bars (1984)_ (qv) and _Hell Penitentiary (1984)_ (qv), 'Sergio Garrone' (qv) retired from the film business and reportedly went on to run his own restaurant in Rome, Italy.::woodyanders
