Ezra Miller

Ezra Matthew Miller was born in Wyckoff, New Jersey, to Marta (Koch), a modern dancer, and Robert S. Miller, who has worked at Workman Publishing and as former senior VP for Hyperion Books. They have two older sisters. Ezra is of Ashkenazi Jewish (father) and German-Dutch (mother) ancestry; they have described themselves as Jewish and "spiritual".As a child, Miller sang with the Metropolitan Opera and attended Rockland Country Day School and The Hudson School. Their first feature film was the indie _Afterschool (2008)_ (qv), and Miller subsequently appeared on the television series _Californication (2007)_ (qv), _Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)_ (qv), and _Royal Pains (2009)_ (qv), and in the films _City Island (2009)_ (qv), _Every Day (2010)_ (qv), _Beware the Gonzo (2010)_ (qv), and _Another Happy Day (2011)_ (qv).Miller drew critical praise playing Kevin Khatchadourian, the homicidal son of 'Tilda Swinton' (qv)'s character, in the dramatic thriller _We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011)_ (qv). They subsequently played Patrick in the well-received teen drama _The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)_ (qv), opposite 'Logan Lerman' (qv) and 'Emma Watson' (qv).Ezra's upcoming roles include the period piece _Madame Bovary (2014)_ (qv), 'Judd Apatow' (qv)'s comedy _Trainwreck (2015)_ (qv), and the psychological thriller _The Stanford Prison Experiment (2015)_ (qv).
