Anthony Mark O'Brien, born in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, coinciding with a total lunar eclipse. He was settled into foster care early in life, appreciating a stable, adventurous childhood within a family of nine. His foster parents, educators of physics & geography respectively, were also passionate long-standing members of a woodcraft movement, throughout his upbringing the whole family would attend camps instilling a creative freedom set in the fields, forests, mountains & caves of the United Kingdom.Raised on a healthy dose of spaghetti westerns & chapters from the ultimate spy, he would perform blue-sky plays with his sisters & brothers, taking part in theatrical productions within the scout movement & school. A contentment found in the performing arts that he would rediscover later in life. A musical director once scolded the nine year old for his solo performance of, "The Sparrow" for singing out of tune, already showing signs of developing his character, staying truthful to clues given in dialogue.Returning to live with his mother during his high school years he shone in many subjects though English & Drama left an indelible impression on the young student. Mainly due to his teacher of the subjects who was also his form tutor. They say you always remember the good & bad teachers from your school years, thankfully she was one of the former, who also offered him parts in school productions. An enduring memory of the tweed wearing, bicycle riding English teacher who gave him an escape will always be treasured. His mother also played a key part of his appreciation into the craft of acting, at a young age she introduced him to the films of Bruce Lee yet he never forgot his Mum's reaction after watching Daniel Day Lewis's performance as Christy Brown in My Left Foot.Volunteering into the army in 1995, awarded 'Top Recruit' & 'Best at Physical Training' at his passing out parade, going on to complete the All Arms Commando Course earning the much coveted green beret, travelling extensively, yet deciding to leave before the start of a new millennium.Situated at a crossroads in life, realising he would have to try an establish another career, something that he cherished, as does with hindsight, he looked back at his younger years deciding to take different direction. This is where he rekindled his respect for acting, via Glasgow College of Nautical Studies, acquainted with Strathclyde Theatre Group, beginning his foundation in theatre he found himself drawn into the art of film-making & as a late comer, though keen pupil, he took on many roles to fine tune his craft-work.Acquiring many things on this journey, positive, negative, comedic & tragic but always keeping his eye for the negligible detail.::Clayton Harrington
