Chaya Supannarat

Chaya Supannarat is a Thai-American writer, director, and producer known for her work in action and thriller films. Born and raised in Thailand, she was immersed in the film industry from an early age, growing up on movie sets under the influence of her mother, a renowned casting director. She later pursued her passion academically, earning an MFA in Screenwriting from California State University, Northridge, while simultaneously producing two feature films. Chaya has directed and produced several action-driven projects, including Bangkok Dog and Gladiator Underground, which are recognized for their physical intensity and emotional depth. With a sharp eye for practical stunt work and grounded storytelling, she brings a dynamic energy to genre cinema. She is also drawn to the psychological and emotional potential of horror. Influenced by her cultural roots and a fascination with the unseen, Chaya is now exploring deeply personal themes through a darker, more atmospheric lens-adding a new layer to her evolving directorial voice.
