'Helen Shaver' (qv) has built a lasting legacy, both behind and in front of the camera. She has directed hundreds of hours of television ranging from _Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)_ (qv) to _Castle (2009)_ (qv), from _The Unit (2006)_ (qv) to _The Outer Limits (1995)_ (qv). Her film, _Das Ende des Sommers (1999)_ (qv), a Showtime feature starring 'James Earl Jones' (qv), won multiple Emmy awards for Outstanding Children's Special, Outstanding Performer in a Children's Special and Helen was nominated for her direction. Her producing credits include _Judging Amy (1999)_ (qv) for CBS, Showtime's _Due East (2002)_ (qv) starring 'Cybill Shepherd' (qv) and 'Robert Forster' (qv) and the independent feature _We All Fall Down (2000)_ (qv), for which she also received a Best Supporting Actress award.It was 'Martin Scorsese' (qv) who first suggested Helen direct.
