Dan Clark began his career as an athlete, playing football for San Jose State, going on to play for the Los Angeles Rams and in the Professional European League. From 1989-1996, Clark starred as "Nitro" on seven seasons of the smash hit game show _American Gladiators (1989)_ (qv) series, which aired in over 40 countries, with reruns on USA Network, TNT and Spike. It is currently (2007) airing on ESPN Classic. He is a Consulting Producer on NBC's revival of _American Gladiators (2008)_ (qv).Dan then turned to acting, appearing in such motion pictures as _Death Becomes Her (1992)_ (qv) with 'Meryl Streep' (qv), 'Bruce Willis' (qv) and 'Goldie Hawn' (qv); and _Equilibrium (2002)_ (qv), with 'Christian Bale' (qv). Dan has also guest-starred in TV series including _Ellen (1994)_ (qv), _Walker, Texas Ranger (1993)_ (qv), _V.I.P. - Die Bodyguards (1998)_ (qv), _Married... with Children (1987)_ (qv), _Who's the Boss? (1984)_ (qv), _Saved by the Bell (1989)_ (qv) and _The Brothers Garcia (2000)_ (qv).A man of many talents, Dan was the writer/director/producer of the independent film _Looking for Bruce (1996)_ (qv). He has also written several screenplays for various studios, producers and production companies, including a bio-pic Battle of Harlem, about the first African-American police officer in the NYPD.Clark has appeared on a variety of talk shows including _The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962)_ (qv), _Good Morning America (1975)_ (qv), The CBS Morning 'News' (qv) (1987), _Today (1952)_ (qv), _Live with Kelly and Ryan (1988)_ (qv), _Sally Jessy Raphael (1983)_ (qv) and _The Montel Williams Show (1991)_ (qv). He has also graced the cover of TV Guide and numerous other magazines.Dan enjoys all sports, yoga, acting, writing and martial arts (he's a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do) and is often called on to perform his own stunts. For the last five years (2007) he's also been a mentor in the Young Story Tellers program which is dedicated to increasing literacy among inner-city youths. Dan makes his home in the Hollywood Hills and can often be found walking his Labrador Retriever, Ella, at nearby Runyon Canyon Park.::Gary Goldstein
