
Marcus Chong

'Marcus Chong' (qv) began as a child actor in _Roots: The Next Generations (1979)_ (qv) as Frankie Warner where he met Alex Haley. He then went on to work on _Little House on the Prairie (1974)_ (qv), starring 'Michael Landon' (qv) . As a young adult, he appeared on Broadway in "Stand Up Tragedy", and won a Theater World Award. In film, he debuted in 'Jeff Bridges' (qv)'s _American Heart (1992)_ (qv) about street kids in Seattle. He went on to perform in "Panther", written and directed by 'Melvin Van Peebles' (qv). Chong portrayed Huey P. Newton, founder of the Black Panthers. Marcus filmed _The Matrix (1999)_ (qv). Chong has been performing his up and coming new productions on stage in NY as Alexander Dumas, author of the "Three Musketeers" and the "Count of Monte Cristo". Chong portrayed 'Harry Belafonte' (qv) in _Not 4 Sale (2013)_ (qv) and appeared in the USC film _Son Shine (2013)_ (qv).
