May Chin

Since 2001 'May Chin' (qv) (Kao Chin Su-mei) has been a member of Taiwan's legislative body, the Yuan, as one of 3 representatives of the island's Aboriginal population. Her small party is allied with the ruling pro-China Kuomintang. She once sued former Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi for visiting the controversial Yasukuni shrine to Japan's war dead.::Tim Colebatch (timcolebatch@hotmail.com)
