When 'Aisha Hinds' (qv)' junior high school tap dance instructor observed that she needed an outlet for expression that surpassed her tap shoes, she was guided to the High School of Performing Arts in New York - where her formal acting training began.Hinds' numerous television credits include a supporting role on _Detroit 1-8-7 (2010)_ (qv), recurring roles on _Hawthorne (2009)_ (qv) and _The Shield (2002)_ (qv) and guest appearances on _Boston Legal (2004)_ (qv), _Medium (2005)_ (qv), _CSI: NY (2004)_ (qv), _Judging Amy (1999)_ (qv), _Crossing Jordan (2001)_ (qv), _ER (1994)_ (qv), and _NYPD Blue (1993)_ (qv). She also starred opposite Marcia Gay Harden in the pilot _Hate (2005)_ (qv).
