Thijs Römer

'Thijs Römer' (qv) was born on July 26 1978 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, the Netherlands. He is an actor and director who is known for _The Neighbors (2014)_ (qv), _Family Way (2012)_ (qv), _May 6th (2004)_ (qv) and _Moordvrouw (2012)_ (qv).Thijs appeared in multiple series and films directed by Theo van Gogh. In 2005 he won a Gouden Kalf for his role as a photo journalist in _May 6th (2004)_ (qv). In 2013 he won the Rembrandt Award for his part in _Family Way (2012)_ (qv).Römer started his career in theatre where he appeared in "De Zeven Deugden - Doolhof en Orestes". In 2002 Thijs started a theatre group, Annette Speelt, with a few of his fellow students from the Amsterdamse Theaterschool. With this group he brought, amongst others, the plays "De Perzen", "Lucifer", "Revuelutie" and "Othello" to the theaters. In 2012 and 2013 he starred in _Cloaca (2003)_ (qv), directed by 'Gerardjan Rijnders' (qv). In August 2013 Thijs appeared in the Dutch adaptation of the New York hit "The Normal Heart".The actor starred in several successful series like _Heartbeat (2002)_ (qv), _Meiden van de Wit (2002)_ (qv), _Grijpstra & de Gier (2004)_ (qv) and Theo van Gogh's _Najib en Julia (2003)_ (qv) and _Medea (2005)_ (qv). Since 2012 he portrays the police investigator Evert Numan in the RTL hit series _Moordvrouw (2012)_ (qv) that is currently in its third season. His latest project is a series alongside his real-life wife 'Katja Schuurman' (qv), which is called _The Neighbors (2014)_ (qv), and is based on the novel by 'Saskia Noort' (qv).On the big screen he can be seen in Theo van Gogh's _Gwen Stefani: Cool (2005)_ (qv), _May 6th (2004)_ (qv) and _Ter ziele (2005)_ (qv). In the film _Blind Date (2007)_ (qv) Thijs played his first English speaking part. The same year Thijs acted in _Kapitein Rob en het Geheim van Professor Lupardi (2007)_ (qv). In 2009 _Stella's oorlog (2009)_ (qv) and in 2010 _Dik Trom (2010)_ (qv) follow.Besidse acting and directing Thijs is putting more focus on his writing.::Unknown
