Dwayne Cameron

'Dwayne Cameron' (qv) was born October 28 1981 in Auckland New Zealand. Age ten his father was killed when he was hit by a train. Landed his first role opposite 'William Shatner' (qv). Starred in _Disturbing the Peace (2020)_ (qv) with 'Guy Pearce' (qv), with 'Nicolas Cage' (qv) in _211 (2018)_ (qv) and in 'Roger Donaldson' (qv)'s _McLaren (2017)_ (qv). Played love interest to 'Amber Heard' (qv) and 'Selma Blair' (qv) and also starred alongside 'John Savage' (qv). His career took off when he was cast for the lead role of Bray in the cult TV series _The Tribe (1999)_ (qv). By the age of 18 he had completed 156 episodes of The Tribe and had been on a number of publicity tours to Europe and the USA, appearing in all major youth media to promote the show and spin-off album. He trained in Hollywood at the 'Stella Adler' (qv) Academy and in 2005 met 'Ivana Chubbuck' (qv) and trained in her advanced classes. He has also trained in Sydney, Australia at the Actors Studio and in Auckland, New Zealand in the 'Michael Chekhov' (qv) and Stanislavski technique.Dwayne has continued to land ongoing lead roles in numerous multi award winning New Zealand TV dramas. From 2001-2003 he had lead roles on two different NZ TV dramas; playing 'Antony Starr' (qv)'s emotionally tortured and street savvy younger brother Gus Van Der Velter in _Mercy Peak (2001)_ (qv), while also playing fierce young lawyer James Peabody in _Street Legal (2000)_ (qv) opposite 'Manu Bennett' (qv). In 2008 he played Lindsey Reynolds in New Zealand's longest running TV series _Shortland Street (1992)_ (qv). In 2009 he played the role of paranoid schizophrenic Nathan Lewis in _The Cult (2009)_ (qv) and in 2014 he starred alongside 'Robyn Malcolm' (qv) in _Agent Anna (2013)_ (qv) playing her bohemian gypsy lover Rory O'Conner.Dwayne has worked with over 50 directors on 250 episodes of internationally selling TV series, including; _Mr & Mrs Murder (2013)_ (qv), _Legend of the Seeker (2008)_ (qv), _Power Rangers Operation Overdrive (2007)_ (qv), _Dark Knight (2000)_ (qv) and _The Tribe (1999)_ (qv). Guest roles in TV series include; _Love Bites (2002)_ (qv), _Strongman: The Tragedy (2012)_ (qv), _Cancerman: The Milan Brych Affair (2012)_ (qv), Longing For Sandy Bay, Bliss, _Amazon High (1997)_ (qv) opposite 'Karl Urban' (qv) and 'Selma Blair' (qv), and A Twist in The Tale, where he starred along side 'William Shatner' (qv).He played the love interest of 'Amber Heard' (qv) in a Warner Brothers produced music video for the band Eisley and has worked on a number of art house films including _A Dream... (2012)_ (qv) which was based on The Trial by 'Franz Kafka' (qv) and was supported and made possible with the assistance of Academy Award and Palme d'Or winning director 'Jane Campion' (qv).Dwayne has written, directed, produced, edited and starred in a number of his own short films made by his production company Dancing Mind Films, the most recent was _Holding the Sun (2013)_ (qv) which was accepted into the 2013 Cannes Short Film Corner and was nominated at the 2013 New Zealand Film 'Awards' (qv) for Best Short Film and Best Production Design.
